About The Position

Bully Pulpit International (BPI) is an outcomes agency comprised of strategists, data scientists, and artists with diverse backgrounds in politics, brands, and government. We communicate without barriers and measure what matters, operating with over 400 team members across six countries and thirteen offices. Our expertise spans strategic communications, public affairs, research, and digital marketing, enabling us to create sophisticated, customized strategies that drive change for both American and European clients. The Production Director at BPI is crucial in transforming strategy into impact through the creation of bold, beautifully crafted content. This role, reporting to the Head of Production, will lead high-profile, integrated campaigns for corporate reputation, advocacy, and public-affairs clients, encompassing everything from short-form social content to broadcast-quality productions. The Production Director will act as a strategic partner to creative leadership, ensuring ideas are executed with precision, efficiency, and excellence, adhering to timelines and budgets.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of senior-level production experience in an agency, production company, or in-house environment.
  • Proven success leading complex, integrated campaigns across video, digital, and experiential.
  • Deep expertise in budget management, production contracts, and vendor negotiation.
  • Strong creative instincts — able to translate abstract ideas into tangible, high-impact content.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted production, social-native storytelling, and evolving platform formats (Reels, Shorts, TikTok, YouTube).
  • Ability to balance creativity with structure — managing multiple high-stakes timelines simultaneously.
  • Collaborative, solutions-driven leadership style and strong client communication skills.
  • Portfolio is mandatory for the application process.

  • Experience with corporate, advocacy, or public-affairs content (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of video and digital production, from ideation and scripting to delivery, ensuring excellence at every phase.
  • Build scalable production systems, templates, and vendor frameworks that improve efficiency across BPI’s creative teams.
  • Lead cost estimates, resource allocation, and reconciliation for high-value campaigns; ensure profitability and transparency.
  • Identify, vet, and manage top-tier vendors — directors, DPs, editors, animators, and photographers — across multiple markets.
  • Guide integrated producers through complex shoots and integrated campaigns; foster a culture of craft and accountability.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Creative, Strategy, Account, and Media leadership to align production with creative intent and client goals.
  • Safeguard creative excellence, compliance, and consistency across deliverables.
  • Champion new tools, AI-assisted workflows, and social-first storytelling that expand BPI’s production capabilities.
  • Serve as a trusted senior point of contact for clients — providing counsel, clarity, and calm under pressure.
