About The Position

Sika is a specialty chemicals company with a globally leading position in the development and production of systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing, and protection in the building sector and industry. Sika Corporation is looking for an experienced Director of Production to join its growing team in the Sealy, TX area for its Roofing business. This position is tasked with the efficient, safe, and environmentally correct operation and growth of the plant. The incumbent is expected to develop and implement new programs to achieve higher quality and productivity and be the Corporation's representative to direct and achieve our Vision in the Manufacturing Plant by cultivating an environment of confidence and trust. Requirements

  • Must be a well-educated manufacturing leader who is capable of pushing forward the necessary strategies and programs to increase quality, productivity and customer service.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, which are characterized by sincerity, persuasiveness and clarity of thought.
  • Strong interpersonal skills reflecting leadership, sensitivity and the demonstrated desire and ability to foster teamwork focusing on positive cooperative communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive Manufacturing Management experience.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of continuous improvement concepts including statistical process control and lean manufacturing.
  • Good understanding of mechanical engineering with conceptual understanding of chemical and/or electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Attain annual safety goals through a solid understanding of safety management as well as the ability to convey and enforce safety rules and procedures throughout the manufacturing organization.
  • Be familiar with the product quality needs of all products to attain annual quality and delivery goals.
  • Problem-solving, error-proofing and mentoring skills are required to attain annual quality and delivery goals.
  • Map processes and identify non value-added activities to streamline production activities.
  • Demonstrate ability to team up with the engineering, maintenance, and quality functions including participating in capital planning, preventative maintenance, and problem solving.
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the organization including educating them on the importance of continuous improvement as a key element of manufacturing.
