Director of Product, Marketplace

Coral CareNew York, NY
Onsite

About The Position

You will own the product surface area of a real two-sided marketplace: parents finding pediatric therapy for their kids, and licensed clinicians building their practice through Coral Care. Both sides are consumers. Both sides are choosing with their own time, money, and attention. The work is everything you already love about consumer marketplace PM. Funnel diagnosis, activation curves, supply liquidity, conversion at the zip code level, the messy beautiful problem of matching the right person to the right person at the right time. The category is one where the outcome is a child who actually gets the care they need. You'll be reporting to the CEO and have a seat at the table making core company decisions that impact real people.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience shipping consumer products.
  • Experience on products where the user is the buyer, the buyer is a person, and that person can leave whenever they want.
  • Experience on a real two-sided marketplace (e.g., DoorDash, Instacart, Uber, Lyft, Airbnb, Thumbtack, OpenTable, Etsy, Glossier, Angi, or similar).
  • Proven ability to move a marketplace metric that mattered.
  • Experience with hyperlocal supply and demand as a central product problem, not just a search filter.
  • Experience running real processes at a large company and building credibility through output at a smaller company.
  • Experience managing one or two people.
  • Comfort with details, analyzing retention curves, writing briefs, and understanding drop-off in user flows.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Coral Care is unable to sponsor work visas at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep understanding of consumer marketplace PM.
  • Knowledge of supply-side health as a product problem, not just a recruitment issue.
  • Understanding of healthy liquidity ratios in hyperlocal marketplaces.
  • Ability to identify issues in supply-starved, demand-starved, or badly matched zip codes.
  • Experience analyzing cohort retention charts and generating hypotheses.
  • Thinking in terms of days (Day 1, Day 3, Day 7, Day 28) for both sides of the marketplace.
  • Knowledge of behaviors predicting long-term retention and ability to design lightweight tests.
  • Experience owning demand-side conversion and shipping supply-side tooling.
  • A strong opinion on optimizing for first-booking time versus first-booking quality.
  • Understanding when a matching algorithm needs to transition from a filter to a recommendation.
  • A strong point of view on AI in product and workflow.
