About The Position

Formlabs is seeking a leader to join their Software team as the Director of Software Product Management. This role is responsible for crafting, maintaining, and executing the software roadmap in conjunction with engineering teams and shaping the user experience of Formlabs' products. The software product portfolio includes Firmware/UI for 3D printers, Desktop software (Preform), IoT capabilities (Dashboard), and Workflow integrations for various industries like manufacturing and dental. The ideal candidate will be customer-obsessed and forward-thinking.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in a product management role.
Previous experience leading a team with 5+ direct reports.
Ability to drive processes forward and demonstrate a bias for action.
Ability to enable the team to do their best work.

Nice To Haves

Computer science or embedded engineering background.
Started a company or new product from scratch.
Experience scaling teams.
Track record of leading high-performing teams.
Experience in the B2B tech space.

Responsibilities

Lead the team through the full product life cycle: conception, development, launch, and commercialization.
Impact decision-making within and outside the software engineering realm, recognizing that software decisions affect hardware and material products.
Collaborate with leaders from various disciplines.
Understand the user through research and competitive analysis.
Anticipate market needs and identify opportunities for Formlabs to excel.
Serve as a product thought leader and subject matter expert for the company.
Mentor and develop existing product managers.
Prioritize hiring and identify top talent for the team.
Navigate ambiguity to create a roadmap.
Be comfortable building novel products and features.
