About The Position

Roku is seeking a Director of Product Management for Search to lead the unified Search and Voice team. This team is responsible for the Roku Entertainment Assistant, an AI-powered platform assistant accessible across the Roku ecosystem. The role involves defining the multi-year strategy, building organizational alignment, mentoring product managers, and driving measurable outcomes in engagement, monetization, and product quality. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with executional rigor, capable of inspiring a team, earning executive trust, making trade-offs, and driving a product that will shape user interaction with TVs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience in consumer Search, Assistants, AI/ML, or large-scale data-driven products
  • 3+ years in a Director or equivalent people-leadership role driving sizable business outcomes
  • Track record of hiring strong talent, developing PM craft, and building high-performing, accountable product organizations
  • A proven track record in defining and delivering multi-year product strategies that drive measurable user and Revenue outcomes
  • Expertise in search technologies, conversational AI, content metadata, ML/AI, and A/B experimentation at scale
  • Executive presence and exceptional communication skills — verbal, written, and visual. With the ability to synthesize complexity, build compelling narratives, and present with confidence to senior leadership audiences
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional trust and lead through influence: in matrixed, fast-moving organizations with multiple senior stakeholders
  • Experience owning monetization and business outcomes: — not just user experience — for a product area, including defining and delivering against revenue-linked KPIs
  • Comfort with quality and trust considerations in AI-powered products: including content policy, AI safety, privacy, and compliance in consumer-facing experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree (MBA or technical) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Define the Roku Entertainment Assistant strategy: Set the long-term product vision for how Search and Voice converge into a single, ubiquitously accessible platform assistant — establishing Roku’s competitive moat in entertainment AI
  • Own the long-term roadmap: Develop and maintain a multi-year product roadmap across Search and Voice, balancing big bets with near-term wins, and connecting team-level execution to company-level OKRs
  • Drive strategic prioritization: Make high-consequence trade-off decisions across competing product initiatives, informed by user research, market intelligence, data, and Roku’s business strategy
  • Align senior leadership: Regularly present product strategy, roadmaps, and outcomes to VP, SVP, and C-suite stakeholders — building institutional confidence, securing resources, and driving alignment on direction
  • Cultivate cross-functional partnerships: Build deep, trusted relationships with XFN Experience PMs, Engineering, Design, Analytics, Ads, Content, and Business Development leaders to align on goals and manage complex dependencies at scale
  • Represent Search & Voice externally: Champion the team’s vision with content partners, advertisers, and platform partners where relevant to Roku’s growth and ecosystem strategy
  • Own monetization outcomes for Search & Voice: Partner with Ads and Content Monetization teams to define and deliver a monetization strategy — integrating advertising, subscription growth, and content distribution levers into the Search and Voice experience without compromising user trust
  • Balance user delight with revenue growth: Be the decision-maker on trade-offs between engagement optimization and monetization, ensuring both are sustainably and measurably achieved
  • Grow Search & Voice as a business: Cultivate partnerships and cross-functional relationships to uncover new revenue opportunities and launch category-defining features
  • Champion product quality: Establish quality standards and review cadences across the Search and Voice portfolio — from relevance and latency to AI safety, content policy, and end-to-end user experience consistency
  • Drive compliance and trust: Partner with Legal, Privacy, and Security teams to ensure all AI-powered and voice experiences meet applicable standards and maintain user trust at scale
  • Be deeply data-driven: Define the analytical direction for the team — setting KPI frameworks, reviewing experiment outcomes, and driving evidence-based product decisions across a portfolio of hundreds of A/B tests per year
  • Drive Gen-AI innovation: Lead the team’s application of LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, conversational AI, and voice understanding to create next-generation assistive entertainment experiences
  • Evangelize product requirements: Translate product vision and insights into clear, detailed PRDs and align cross-functional teams through Roku’s planning and execution cycles
  • Monitor and optimize performance: Track consumer and business KPIs across Search and Voice dashboards; refine success criteria with Analytics to ensure measurable outcomes across the unified platform
  • Be a domain expert: Develop and maintain deep expertise in content metadata, search relevance, voice/NLU, machine learning, and how they translate into user value at scale
