About The Position

As Director of Product Management - Hand Tools, you’ll be part of our Towson, MD team working as a Hybrid employee in office 3 days a week. The Director of Product Management – Hand Tools will be responsible for aligning product strategy with business goals. This role is a critical role in our product organization that collaborates cross functionally as well as cross brand leader to deliver system solutions throughout that impact our products across the entire organization. This role will also lead our PM team that develops products that directly impact Professional construction trade contractors and be our most vocal and empathetic customer advocate. They will partner with key Sales, Channel, Category Management, Brand, Operations and other cross functional teams in an effort to develop partnerships and collaborate with business stakeholders for successful strategy, execution, and communication. This position reports into the VP, Product Management – HTAS

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience in a Trades Based Industry
  • 5+ years of successfully commercializing and deploying effective go to market strategies for driving core and new product categories
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 6+ years of leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance, including hiring and developing senior managers and individual contributors
  • Experience with Tools, User Applications and a history of developing solutions to key user Pain points.
  • Ability to analyze vast amounts of information to understand complex enterprise problems
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout it lifecycle
  • Experience delivering and executing innovative solutions to the market
  • Strong customer obsession to understanding to help solve customer needs, product functionality and the user’s overall experience
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, organize, plan, and meet difficult deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required. Experience in problem solving and creative thinking
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and customers – both internal and external.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling product teams. Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in creation and execution
  • High energy, out-going, and goal-oriented eager to meet and exceed goals and targets
  • Self-starter with ability to manage own schedule while driving team initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Driving the product vision for these critical gateway portfolios and user workflows.
  • Creating product strategy to innovate and energize our product-led organization.
  • Translating and driving the user feedback into a clear and translated product roadmap that will align to defined growth plans. Here, the candidate will have responsibility for helping the team create the roadmap and release those strategic plans, translating them into actionable items. Project scoping and clear prioritization activities based on business and customer impact will be critical to success.
  • Gaining a deep understanding of customer experience, identifying and filling product gaps, generating new ideas, driving growth and market share. Setup advisory boards and user groups to facilitate insight gathering.
  • Respecting and valuing other’s differences while seeking opportunities to learn from those with different perspectives and understanding how issues and solutions will impact other areas of the company.
  • Communicating the product strategy and progress within and across the company.
  • Establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement.
