This role owns the end-to-end development pipeline—identifying unmet customer needs, building business cases, translating needs into product requirements, and partnering with engineering, sourcing, operations, marketing, sales, service, distribution network, and distributors to launch differentiated offerings that drive profitable growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in product management, product development, or portfolio management, with significant exposure to aftermarket/parts/services, including 3+ years leading teams, initiatives, or complex cross‑functional programs.
  • Proven track record developing and launching products or service offerings that deliver measurable revenue and margin growth.
  • Experience building business cases and leading cross-functional initiatives from concept through commercialization.
  • Strong analytical capability (market sizing, pricing, profitability, and prioritization).
  • Demonstrated leadership in matrixed organizations; ability to influence without authority and drive decisions across stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, including executive-level storytelling and crisp written documentation.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% (may vary based on business needs).

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Experience in power systems, generators, engines, controls, or adjacent industrial equipment aftermarket ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with installed-base analytics, segmentation, and lifecycle management (e.g., service intervals, failure modes, retrofit/upgrade pathways).
  • Experience with digital/connected product monetization (subscriptions, usage-based offers, remote monitoring, predictive maintenance).
  • Global aftermarket experience, including channel management and region-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Lean/continuous improvement exposure within NPI/NPD or commercialization processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own a multi-year aftermarket product development strategy aligned to company growth, profitability, and customer experience objectives.
  • Grow share of wallet across the installed base by identifying attach opportunities (parts, kits, accessories, upgrades, digital/connected offerings, cross-referencing, service bundles) and creating compelling value propositions.
  • Lead portfolio diversification efforts across Rehlko and other OE platforms, including competitive benchmarking, gap analysis, and prioritization of white-space opportunities.
  • Establish and manage the aftermarket product development roadmap, stage-gate process, and governance cadence; ensure disciplined prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Translate voice-of-customer and field insights into clear product requirements, pricing/packaging concepts, and launch plans; validate using pilots and data-driven learning loops.
  • Own business cases (market sizing, margin targets, investment needs, payback, and risk assessment) and secure cross-functional alignment for funding and execution.
  • Partner with engineering/R&D to deliver new products and enhancements; ensure designs support serviceability, quality, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle cost targets.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and operations to build robust supply strategies (cost, quality, lead time, dual-sourcing where appropriate) and ensure scalable manufacturing/fulfillment readiness.
  • Work with marketing and sales to develop go-to-market plans, channel strategies, training, and tools that increase attach rates and accelerate adoption.
  • Coordinate with service and technical support teams to ensure documentation, warranty policy, repair procedures, and field readiness for launches.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team (direct and/or matrixed), including coaching, performance management, and talent development.
