Inside the Role This role is one of two Level 3 Director positions within Product Integrity (TN/PI). The Director of Product Integrity is accountable for engineering quality, safety defect investigations, TREAD reporting, and full vehicle certification and homologation. Maintain a strong customer and market focus in all decision-making. Strategic & Operational Leadership Own departmental budget planning and management, including external resource funding. Set and execute the vision, strategy, and operational priorities for Product Integrity. Technical & Regulatory Leadership Lead certification of Freightliner and Western Star vehicles to FMVSS and other applicable regulatory requirements. Direct product defect investigations to identify potential safety or compliance risks, ensuring lessons learned are embedded back into engineering processes and systems. Champion a quality mindset by developing and deploying systems, tools, and behaviors that drive high-quality products and a strong customer experience. Ensure all NHTSA communications and submissions are accurate, timely, and compliant. Serve as Product Compliance Management System (PCMS) leader locally, partnering with global PCM counterparts to align strategic decisions and activities; lead local and support TCC decision processes. Act as a compliance advisor to Aftermarket and Reman organizations. Collaborate cross-functionally to shape product strategies, risk mitigation approaches, and negotiation tactics that position DTNA for long-term success. Actively promote a transcending compliance culture across the Daimler Truck organization. Represent DTNA interests through active collaboration with EMA members and external stakeholders. Travel Domestic travel required, including face-to-face meetings with NHTSA. Occasional international travel may be required.
