About The Position

The Cook County Board of Review's (CCBOR) Technology Team is dedicated to supporting the taxpayers of Cook County and ensuring the smooth operation of the agency. The CCBOR is looking for a skilled Director of Data Integrity. The Director of Data Integrity is responsible for establishing, governing, and continuously improving enterprise-wide data integrity, quality, security, and compliance practices. This role ensures that organizational data is accurate, consistent, secure, auditable, and compliant with applicable federal, state, and industry regulations. The Director partners closely with IT, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Operations leadership to drive enterprise data governance and integrity initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
3+ years of experience working with SQL Server and database management.
Proven experience in developing ETL pipelines and integrating data from various sources.
Hands-on experience with report generation and dashboard creation.
Proficient in SQL and database performance tuning.
Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Talend, or similar.
Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requires consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
Experience working with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Knowledge of advanced data modeling techniques.
Experience with real-time data streaming and big data technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

Establish and enforce enterprise data integrity standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
Define and implement validation controls to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Own master data management, reconciliation processes, and audit readiness activities.
Oversee data access controls, security roles, and monitoring of system integrations.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, ISO, state and federal regulations).
Lead risk assessments, remediation plans, and corrective action initiatives related to data issues.
Direct data quality monitoring, exception reporting, and root-cause analysis.
Approve and govern data architecture and data-impacting system changes.
Partner with application development, infrastructure, and QA teams on system implementations and upgrades.
Present data integrity metrics, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.
Serve as the enterprise subject-matter expert for data integrity and governance.
Lead, mentor, and develop data integrity, governance, and quality teams.
Collaborate with business, technical, compliance, and audit stakeholders.
Manage vendor relationships related to data platforms, analytics, and governance tools.
Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve data reliability and trust.
Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure data quality and integrity.
Analyze trends to proactively identify systemic data issues.
Oversee audit preparation, responses, and remediation activities.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data processes and controls.
Own data-related SOPs, policies, standards, and documentation.
Ensure proper change management and documentation for data-impacting initiatives
Develop and deliver training programs on data integrity, governance, and compliance.
Promote a culture of accountability and data stewardship across the organization.
