About The Position

The Director of Product Integrity Technical & Compliance is a strategic leader responsible for quality and regulatory compliance across the company’s global supply chain for apparel, footwear, and accessories. This role ensures that all stages of development, production, and distribution meet or exceed industry standards and global regulatory requirements, enhancing product integrity and customer trust. Focusing on traceability, material validation, and sustainability, the Director implements rigorous testing, audit, and certification protocols to protect brand reputation. Through cross-functional collaboration, the Director integrates global regulatory updates, enforces SOPs, and establishes global labeling standards. With expertise in Restricted Substance Lists (RSL), Cotton Origin Verification, and sustainable practices, this role drives the company’s competitive edge in compliance and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in quality and regulatory compliance within the apparel industry, with a strong background in textile technology.
  • Expertise in setting up and managing quality control and regulatory compliance processes for international markets.
  • Strong industry knowledge of Restricted Substance Lists (RSL), Cotton Origin Verification, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier management, third-party testing coordination, and implementing corrective action protocols.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and distribution of regulatory policies, compliance SOPs, and a compliance memo system to ensure effective communication across teams.
  • Partner with the Raw Materials Development team on new materials awareness for upcoming seasons. Align on performance expectations, standards, and care instruction requirements.
  • Lead the oversight of Alo’s Restricted Substance List (RSL) and Product-Specific Restricted Substance List (PRSL) requirements to ensure all products comply with global chemical regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks in product development.
  • Establish and lead raw material and finished product tolerances, creating a compliance framework that supports quality standards.
  • Establish, maintain, and update Alo’s raw materials testing protocols to ensure global compliance and brand standards are upheld. Responsible for third-party testing facility selection and oversight to ensure optimal global coverage. Manage and oversee Alo’s vendor lab certification program.
  • Lead the validation of preferred materials, including cotton, specialty wool, silk, and other sustainable materials, ensuring they meet company quality and sustainability standards.
  • Partner with Legal and industry associations to ensure Alo is aware of upcoming global compliance regulations and requirements. Communicate and proactively work with CFT partners and vendors to ensure product compliance by the legislation’s enforcement date.
