  • 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience, with recent hands-on leadership of modern engineering teams; relevance and recency of experience valued over total years.
  • Proven experience establishing and scaling engineering teams that leverage AI tooling across the software development lifecycle (e.g., AI-assisted coding, code review, testing, and documentation), with the ability to drive adoption, establish standards, monitor effectiveness, and ensure secure usage to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping AI-powered product features and solutions in production, including integration of LLMs, generative AI, and traditional ML models.
  • Relevant technical background across modern software development, including web, mobile, microservices, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Proven track record leading high-performing software engineering organizations through growth or transformation.
  • Excellent strategic planning, roadmap execution, and agile/DevOps program management skills.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory standards affecting the healthcare and pharmacy sectors, including HIPAA, audit readiness, validation expectations, traceability, and compliance obligations in regulated environments.
  • Working knowledge of modern AI development tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and AI/LLM application patterns including RAG, agents, prompt engineering, evaluation, governance, security, and responsible AI practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of partnering effectively with product, design, business, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate complex challenges and drive change in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Experience delivering software products in a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or Pharmacy Benefit Management environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end software engineering for product platforms, including web, mobile, APIs, and integrations that support PBM and Pharmacy operations.
  • Direct daily operations of the product engineering department, establishing engineering standards, development practices, code quality benchmarks, delivery priorities, and secure AI-assisted software engineering practices that improve developer productivity, testing automation, code quality, and delivery velocity.
  • Partner with Product Management to translate product roadmaps into executable engineering plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and success metrics.
  • Drive on-time, high-quality delivery of product releases using agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and modern release management.
  • Lead and develop engineering managers, senior engineers, and software developers across the product engineering organization.
