About The Position

The Director of Product Development, Math leads the design, development, and continuous improvement of 95 Percent Group’s K–8 math products and instructional content. This role is responsible for translating evidence-aligned instructional principles into high-quality, scalable, and usable math programs that meet the needs of educators and districts. The Director works closely with product management, go-to-market teams, and software engineers to ensure math products are instructionally coherent, market-relevant, and implementation-ready. This is a highly collaborative, execution-focused role centered on building high-quality supplemental math curriculum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Mathematics Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in curriculum development, instructional content design, or edtech product development for math products
  • Experience managing content writers or instructional teams, with a track record of providing effective feedback and fostering professional growth.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, design, or engineering teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple content initiatives simultaneously.
  • Clear, practical written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to improving math outcomes through well-designed instructional products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the instructional integrity and coherence of 95 Percent Group’s math products.
  • Contribute to product vision and roadmap discussions by representing instructional priorities and user needs.
  • Ensure alignment of content with evidence-aligned instructional practices and state standards.
  • Support iterative improvement of products based on customer feedback, usage data, and implementation experience.
  • Lead the development and revision of math instructional content, including lessons, routines, assessments, and teacher supports.
  • Manage third-party development houses and contractors.
  • Manage and support internal and external content writers, providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and ongoing professional guidance to drive accountability for the quality and timely delivery of instructional materials.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure instructional intent is accurately realized in digital and print formats.
  • Help establish and maintain content development processes, templates, and quality benchmarks.
  • Represent the organization’s math products and instructional approach at select conferences, webinars, and virtual events.
  • Present on product design, instructional models, and implementation insights for educator and district audiences.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop presentations, webinars, case studies, and other outward-facing content that clearly communicates product value.
  • Contribute to occasional blogs, white papers, or partner content that supports go-to-market goals and reinforces instructional credibility.
  • Partner regularly with product managers to scope features, define requirements, and prioritize content work.
  • Support marketing, sales, and customer success teams with product-focused explanations of instructional design and classroom value.
  • Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure materials are practical, clear, and easy to use in real classrooms.
  • Provide strategic support to the RFP team in developing district and state adoption proposals, and represent the organization as a presenter to stakeholders influencing adoption outcomes.
  • Engage directly with educators, district partners, and implementation specialists to understand classroom needs and challenges.
  • Participate in pilots, reviews, and feedback sessions to inform product improvements.
