About The Position

The Director of Practice Analytics provides strategic and operational leadership for data-driven practice management and forecasting. This role ensures the effective use of clinical, operational, and financial data to support high-quality, sustainable care delivery. The Director partners closely with clinical, operational, and finance leaders to translate complex data into actionable insights that improve access, optimize performance, and support informed decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Business, or a closely related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in healthcare analytics, practice management, or operational analytics with at least 5 years of supervisory, management, or related leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with healthcare data analysis, including clinical, operational, and financial datasets.
  • Strong experience with EHR systems and practice management data; EPIC experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop forecasts, models, and scenarios to support operational and strategic planning.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including proficiency with SQL, Excel, and at least one data visualization or analytics platform (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills to serve individuals from varied backgrounds, ensuring care is delivered in a manner that aligns with cultural and linguistic appropriateness requirements and organizational protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical background with relevant advanced degree and/or licensure (e.g., MD, DO, NP, PA, RN, LCSW, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting, preferred.
  • Familiarity with LGBTQ+ health, HIV care, and health equity–focused performance measurement, preferred.
  • Experience partnering with finance teams on budgeting and revenue forecasting, preferred.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring analytics staff, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Practice Analytics & Performance Management Lead the development and oversight of clinical, operational, and provider productivity dashboards
  • Analyze key performance metrics, including access, utilization, visit volume, no-show rates, and continuity of care
  • Identify trends, disparities, and opportunities to support quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems, including EHR and reporting tools
  • Forecasting & Capacity Planning Develop short- and long-term forecasts for volume, staffing, revenue, and service demand
  • Partner with leadership to support workforce planning and scheduling optimization
  • Model operational impact of new programs, service expansions, and regulatory changes
  • Translate forecasts into actionable recommendations for strategic and budget planning
  • Operational Decision Support Serve as a strategic data partner to clinical and operational leaders
  • Provide timely analyses to support decision-making and improve workflows and patient flow
  • Evaluate clinical initiatives and operational changes through data tracking and outcomes analysis
  • Prepare data for internal leadership, Board reporting, and external stakeholders
  • Systems, Tools & Data Infrastructure Collaborate with IT/HIT teams to enhance analytics tools and dashboards
  • Ensure reporting solutions are user-friendly and aligned with stakeholder needs
  • Promote best practices in data governance, privacy, and HIPAA compliance
  • Leadership & Collaboration Supervise and mentor analytics staff, fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships across departments
  • Support data literacy among non-technical stakeholders
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff development processes
  • Oversee performance management, provide feedback, and promote a positive work environment
