About The Position

The Director of Policy & Engagement, within the MIT Climate Policy Center at the Sloan School of Management, will lead efforts to elevate and strategically shape policy-relevant research across MIT. This role involves identifying new opportunities aligned with policymaker needs and executing the Center's mission and strategy. The position directs proactive and responsive policy engagement, ensures effective external communications, and oversees the creation of reports, briefs, and other knowledge products. The Director will collaborate closely with research, communications, and program teams, as well as affiliated faculty, to coordinate activities, enhance the visibility of policy-relevant work, and ensure timely, high-quality outputs that advance MIT's policy impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience, including program/project management, policy development, and/or policy advisory experience.
  • Strong writing and analytical capabilities.
  • Significant demonstrated experience with federal and/or state-level government relations and/or policy communications.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Established record of managing and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Local and international policy experience.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in natural sciences, social sciences, economics, or engineering.
