About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club is seeking a Director of Plant Operations to join their team. This role is responsible for providing structure and support for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club (BSWTC) and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas (BSWLC). The position involves developing and implementing policies and procedures for facility maintenance and repair, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing departmental budgets, overseeing preventive maintenance programs, supervising maintenance staff, and managing construction/renovation projects. The role also ensures facility safety and security, develops emergency preparedness plans, collaborates with other departments, and maintains maintenance records. Additionally, the Director oversees environmental services, linen services, waste disposal, biomedical equipment inspections, and security at the BSWTC facility, and serves as the Safety Officer and Chairperson of the Environment of Care Committee at each facility.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • 3-5 years' experience and/or training in general maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Health Safety Professional preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the maintenance and repair of each facility and equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies and codes related to the physical plant and equipment at each facility.
  • Managing the budget each respective facility department and ensuring that all expenses are within budgetary constraints.
  • Developing and implementing a preventive maintenance program for all equipment and systems at each facility.
  • Supervising and managing the maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance at each facility.
  • Overseeing the construction and renovation projects of each facility.
  • Ensuring that each facility is safe and secure for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Developing and implementing emergency preparedness plans for each facility.
  • Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that each facility is meeting the needs of patients and staff.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities for each facility.
  • Oversee environmental services, linen services, waste disposal, biomedical equipment inspections, and security at BSWTC facility.
  • Serve as the Safety Officer and Chairperson of the Environment of Care Committee at each facility.
