About The Position

The Director of Planning is responsible for leading the U.S. Scheduling organization and driving operational excellence across planning functions. This leader will drive sales results while optimizing team dynamics and leveraging technology. The role serves as a key partner to Operations, Sales, Agreements, Finance and Service Excellence leadership to ensure planning activities are executed consistently, efficiently, and aligned with business goals. The successful candidate will champion innovation, data-driven decision making, workforce optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives that position the planning organization for future growth, capitalize on efficiency and drive our customer experience.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience as a customer advocate.
  • Demonstrated success leading large teams through organizational change and operational transformation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, planning, service delivery, supply chain, or related functions.
  • Strong experience with process (re)design, performance management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience implementing technology-driven operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Sales results to meet or exceed forecast.
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the U.S. Planning organization.
  • Evaluate organizational design, workload balancing, and resource allocation to maximize productivity and service delivery.
  • Create a high-performing proactive culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and manage key planning performance metrics, service levels, productivity measures, and operational KPIs.
  • Drive performance reviews, root-cause analysis, and action planning to improve operational outcomes.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and non-value-added activities within planning processes.
  • Partner with market and operations leaders to improve execution, cycle times, customer responsiveness, and overall service delivery.
  • Standardize workflows, procedures, and best practices across regions to improve consistency and quality; champion simplification.
  • Lead and develop managers and team members across. Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop talent.
  • Serve as a business leader and advocate for technology adoption within planning operations.
  • Leverage automation, workflow technologies, AI-enabled tools, reporting platforms, and digital solutions to improve productivity.
  • Champion a customer-first mindset.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and execution.
  • Demonstrate strong operational acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Drive organizational alignment across operations and service functions.
