Position Summary The Director of Payer Strategy will develop the strategy, planning, and execution of cutting-edge payer programs and services that position Longitude Rx member and affiliate Specialty Pharmacies as a market leader in the competitive specialty marketplace. This position will be responsible for developing innovative initiatives that enhance Longitude Rx’s value proposition, ensure payer access, and boost profitability. Additionally, provide consultative expertise to internal teams and Longitude Rx members and affiliates including PBM’s, payers (health plans), employers, and fostering collaboration and driving transformative solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5 – 7 years of progressive leadership experience in pharmacy PBM and/or payer contracting and negotiations.
  • Possesses strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven success building and executing a growth strategy.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Naturally possesses an entrepreneurial, high-energy, “roll-up-your-sleeves” work style to instill a sense of mission, motivation, and purpose among all employees.
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 30% of the time (estimate).
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree or specific years of experience may be considered, provided the candidate can demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Involved in the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive, market-based PBM and payer strategy.
  • Develop innovative programs, products, and services based on market need assessments, to increase Longitude Rx members and affiliates value and ability to successfully compete and win in the market.
  • Involved in the planning and successful execution of market-leading PBM/payer programs, products, and service offerings to position Longitude Rx for success in competitive bidding scenarios against national specialty pharmacy organizations.
  • Partner with senior leaders to evaluate and recommend specialty pharmacy strategies to Longitude Rx service lines to increase revenue and improve market position, while protecting margin.
  • Ensure alignment of PBM/payer programs with Longitude Rx member and affiliates business initiatives.
  • Work with health system partners to determine what best practices can be applied across the systems and further develop programs and solutions for future commercialization
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with applicable regulations, policies, and best practices within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and across each state being served.
