EQL Tech is working with a philanthropic foundation dedicated to advancing the future of cancer treatment. The future of cancer care is being shaped by rapidly declining costs in genomic sequencing, interpretation, and drug manufacturing. This is leading to more complete diagnostics, combination therapies, and personalized medicines. By helping patients access these cutting-edge approaches today, we not only support individuals facing cancer but also generate learning effects that bring these treatments closer for all future patients. The philanthropic foundation is hiring a Director of Patient Navigation to serve as an information concierge and care coordinator for individuals navigating a cancer diagnosis or disease progression. This role does not involve providing medical advice or delivering direct medical care. Instead, the Director serves as a critical bridge - helping patients and their families understand their options, navigate the healthcare system, and successfully onboard with concierge medicine providers. Following significant media coverage around the funder's work in this space, there has been a surge of people reaching out to learn about and pursue similar treatment approaches. Existing providers do not have the capacity to provide the level of personal guidance that newly diagnosed or progressing patients require. The Director will support approximately 20 patients per year, providing sustained, high-touch coordination during one of the most challenging periods of their lives. This position is explicitly not a clinical role. The Director of Patient Navigation does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. The role is one of information concierge and care coordinator - ensuring patients have access to the right resources, providers, and support systems to make informed decisions about their own care. There is a growing gap between the cutting-edge cancer treatments that are becoming available and the ability of patients to access and navigate them. Concierge medicine providers offer powerful clinical services but lack the bandwidth to provide the personal guidance patients need during the most overwhelming time of their lives. This role fills that gap - offering human-centered support that helps patients move from diagnosis to action with confidence and clarity.
