About The Position

Silverado Hospice Los Angeles is seeking a compassionate and experienced clinical leader to serve as the Director of Patient Care Services. This role involves overseeing hospice care delivery, supporting interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position blends leadership, clinical expertise, and empathy to provide dignified and meaningful care to patients and families. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing or a related health field.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Active CPR certification required.
  • Must meet one of the following: Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing or a related health field and at least 2 years of full-time supervisory or managerial experience in a hospice or home health agency within the last 5 years OR At least 4 years of full-time supervisory or managerial experience in a hospice or home health agency within the last 5 years
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to lead bereavement support groups and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours based on patient needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred; familiarity with WellSky is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model and resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support staff in problem-solving and determining appropriate clinical interventions
  • Collaborate with the Administrator on hiring, orientation, retention, and performance management
  • Adhere to budget requirements for labor, pharmacy, DME, and medical supplies
  • Coordinate patient care with RN Case Managers and attending physicians
  • Review and manage patients receiving higher levels of care (respite, inpatient, continuous care)
  • Oversee clinical and management responsibilities for assigned teams
  • Serve as liaison between Administrator, clinical staff, patients, families, and community partners
