About The Position

Silverado Hospice Orange County is seeking a compassionate and experienced clinical leader to serve as the Director of Patient Care Services. This role involves overseeing hospice care delivery, supporting interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position requires a blend of leadership, clinical expertise, and empathy to provide dignified and meaningful care to patients and their families. The ideal candidate will be a role model and resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members, supporting them in problem-solving and determining appropriate clinical interventions. This role also collaborates with the Administrator on hiring, orientation, retention, and performance management, while adhering to budget requirements for labor, pharmacy, DME, and medical supplies. The Director will coordinate patient care with RN Case Managers and attending physicians, review and manage patients receiving higher levels of care, and oversee clinical and management responsibilities for assigned teams. Additionally, this role serves as a liaison between the Administrator, clinical staff, patients, families, and community partners.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing or a related health field.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Active CPR certification required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience within the last 5 years in hospice, palliative care, supportive care, home health, or a primary care setting.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to lead bereavement support groups and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours based on patient needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred; familiarity with WellSky is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
