About The Position

Our Job Corps programs provide life-changing services that help young people succeed in school, obtain good jobs, excel in their chosen fields, and serve as contributing members of their communities. We accomplish this through an intense commitment to safety, quality service, excellence, and partnerships. This is not a maintenance role. We are seeking a proven leader to direct a workforce development operation responsible for helping young adults access education, career training, and employment opportunities that change the trajectory of their lives. The Director of Outreach, Admissions & Workforce Transition Services will lead a geographically dispersed team responsible for student recruitment, enrollment, career planning, and post-graduation placement throughout Northern California. The successful candidate will be a relationship builder, talent developer, performance-driven leader, and strategic problem solver who can unite teams, strengthen partnerships, and achieve measurable results. This position offers the opportunity to lead an established operation while driving growth, improving outcomes, developing future leaders, and expanding opportunities for young people throughout the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Human Services, Communications, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, Workforce Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with responsibility for supervising staff, managing performance, and achieving organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams through performance metrics, accountability systems, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience developing partnerships with community organizations, employers, educational institutions, government agencies, or other external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement improvement strategies.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout Northern California.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in workforce development, recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, education, training, human services, youth services, military transition services, vocational rehabilitation, community development, or employer engagement.
  • Multi-site leadership experience.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience working within government-funded programs, contracts, grants, or performance-based environments.
  • Experience managing enrollment, recruitment, sales, outreach, placement, or business development teams
  • Job Corps experience is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing team focused on recruitment, enrollment, student success, and career placement.
  • Achieve enrollment, arrival, retention, and placement goals through strong leadership and accountability.
  • Establish and strengthen partnerships with schools, workforce agencies, employers, tribal organizations, community groups, and social service providers.
  • Create a culture focused on performance, customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop staff through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Use data, performance metrics, and operational reporting to drive decision making and improve results.
  • Ensure exceptional experiences for prospective students, applicants, employers, and community partners.
  • Maintain compliance with federal workforce development requirements, contract standards, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with center leadership and external stakeholders to ensure successful student outcomes from recruitment through employment or continuing education.
  • Serve as the primary operational leader for outreach, admissions, workforce transition, and community engagement activities throughout the assigned territory.
