About The Position

Patriot Broadband Technologies is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of OSP Operations to lead and optimize all operational aspects of broadband construction projects. This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing the Outside Plant (OSP) Division, driving operational excellence, profitability, field execution, workforce development, and scalable growth across multiple markets. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with deep expertise in fiber optic construction, utility coordination, subcontractor management, production efficiency, and financial accountability in a fast-paced telecommunications environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of broadband construction experience.
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing OSP operations.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic construction methodologies and telecom infrastructure.
  • Proven success managing P&L performance and improving construction profitability.
  • Experience with aerial and underground construction as well as inside plant fiber deployments.
  • Strong understanding of permitting processes, utility coordination, and telecom construction standards.
  • Experience managing in-house teams, subcontractors, and multi-project operations.
  • Familiarity with project management and construction software platforms.
  • Knowledge of telecom engineering workflows and GIS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational strategies that improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
  • Provide leadership, management, and accountability (LMA) to all assigned operational staff.
  • Build scalable operational processes to support rapid company growth and multi-market expansion.
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Own and manage operational P&L performance for OSP construction activities.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor utilization, equipment costs, subcontractor expenses, production rates, and gross margins.
  • Analyze job costing and production metrics to identify inefficiencies and improve margins.
  • Collaborate with estimating and finance teams to improve forecasting, cost controls, and bid accuracy.
  • Ensure field production aligns with profitability targets and contract requirements.
  • Develop KPI dashboards and operational reporting tools for leadership visibility.
  • Lead all aspects of OSP construction execution, including: Fiber placement, Splicing operations, Aerial construction, Underground construction, Directional drilling, Utility coordination, Permit compliance.
  • Ensuring adherence to engineering specifications, customer standards, and municipal requirements.
  • Improving cycle times, production efficiency, and quality control across the OSP lifecycle.
  • Managing subcontractor performance, compliance, and productivity standards.
  • Partner with OSP Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee project schedules, resource allocation, production planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain proactive customer communication and operational accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service-level agreements.
  • Resolve escalated operational issues affecting schedule, safety, or profitability.
  • Champion a company-wide culture of safety.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, environmental, utility, and customer-specific safety standards.
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action initiatives.
  • Ensure crews maintain proper certifications, training, and operational readiness.
