About The Position

The Director of Operations will own the operational backbone of a growing insurance program manager with delegated underwriting authority. This central role involves working across underwriting, carriers, regulators, vendors, and parent company support teams to manage operations efficiently and identify improvements. It is a hands-on leadership position with broad visibility and significant growth potential within the business. The ideal candidate is organized, driven, and comfortable taking ownership of complex projects.

Requirements

• 3 – 7 years of experience in insurance operations, underwriting support, compliance, program administration, or a related operational role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, learn quickly, and drive accountability across vendors and teammates.
• Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with senior leadership, carriers, regulators, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overseas outsourcing partners responsible for submission clearance, rating, endorsement processing, and other policy administration functions; set expectations, track performance, and improve workflows.
• Oversee and develop a small internal operations team handling policy servicing, agency appointments, and licensing.
• Serve as primary liaison to parent company functions including accounting, finance, regulatory filings, licensing, and IT; ensure alignment and follow-through.
• Coordinate directly with carriers, departments of insurance, and other external stakeholders on data calls, reporting, audits, and information requests.
• Act as the operational hub across underwriting, claims, administrators, and leadership to resolve issues and create process clarity.
• Take ownership of special projects and emerging needs, bringing structure and execution to areas where responsibility may not be clearly defined.
