We are seeking a highly experienced, Director of Operations to lead the launch and ongoing management of a newly developed Office-Based Lab (OBL) and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This leader will be responsible for operationalizing a fully built, multi-specialty procedural platform and driving clinical, financial, and strategic performance from day one. The facility includes: • Two fully equipped cath labs (cardiac and vascular) with shared control room • One fully functional operating room • Six pre-operative bays and five PACU bays This role requires a hands-on operator with deep expertise in startup execution, regulatory compliance, physician alignment, revenue cycle, and growth strategy. Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of healthcare operations leadership experience
  • Experience in ASC and/or OBL operations
  • Proven experience launching or scaling a healthcare facility
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Demonstrated physician alignment experience
  • Strong financial acumen with P&L responsibility

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiovascular or vascular procedural experience
  • Cath lab or surgical services background
  • MBA, MHA, RN, or relevant advanced degree
  • Private equity or high-growth environment experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead full activation of the OBL/ASC, including staffing, policies, workflows, and go-live readiness
  • Develop and implement clinical and operational protocols across cath labs, OR, pre-op, and PACU
  • Ensure readiness for initial cases, inspections, and accreditation
  • Build scalable systems to support future growth in case volume and specialties
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (CMS, AAAHC, Joint Commission, etc.)
  • Lead accreditation process and ongoing survey readiness
  • Maintain policies and procedures aligned with OBL and ASC standards
  • Oversee quality assurance, infection control, and patient safety programs
  • Partner with leadership to recruit high-quality interventional cardiology, vascular, and surgical specialists
  • Develop physician alignment strategies including scheduling, governance participation, and incentives
  • Serve as primary operational liaison to physicians to drive engagement and satisfaction
  • Support onboarding and ramp-up of new physician partners
  • Drive case volume growth through physician relationships, referral development, and service line expansion
  • Identify new procedural opportunities across cardiovascular, vascular, and surgical specialties
  • Collaborate on marketing and community outreach strategies
  • Optimize utilization of cath labs, OR, and perioperative capacity
  • Ensure accurate CPT coding, charge capture, and documentation
  • Optimize payer contracts and reimbursement dynamics
  • Monitor financial KPIs including profitability and payor mix
  • Own P&L performance, including budgeting and cost management
  • Drive operational efficiency across staffing and supply chain
  • Implement performance metrics (case times, turnover, utilization)
  • Improve EBITDA and operational leverage
