About The Position

Epic Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations (DOO) to oversee our Primary Care Service Lines, including Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Pediatrics. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving clinical efficiency, regulatory compliance, financial performance, quality outcomes, and strategic collaboration across our primary care practices. The DOO will also oversee elements of Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) implementation, population health, and integrated value-based care initiatives while coordinating cross-departmental alignment with Diagnostics, Specialty Services, and Care Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Health, Nursing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role overseeing ambulatory primary care operations.
  • Knowledge of PCMH, NCQA standards, and primary care value-based care models.
  • Familiarity with pediatric, family medicine, and adult medicine care models.
  • Working knowledge of Athena or similar EHR systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multisite primary care networks.
  • Proficiency in healthcare operations analytics and quality reporting.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within primary care operations
  • Track record of improving patient access, quality performance, and team efficiency
  • Educational and credentialing background aligned with primary care leadership
  • Familiarity with value-based care models and PCMH certification
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MHA, MPH, MBA, MSN or equivalent).
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or Project Management.
  • Experience with ACO REACH, MSSP, or Medicaid/Medicare VBC contracts.
  • Previous involvement in PCMH certification or recertification efforts.
  • Pediatric and adult medicine operational integration experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of operations across all Primary Care service lines.
  • Develop and implement workflow optimization, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and scheduling models to enhance patient access and throughput.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on PCMH transformation, preventive care, chronic disease management, and value-based metrics.
  • Ensure alignment and collaboration with Diagnostic Services (Lab/Radiology), Specialty Services, and Care Management programs.
  • Monitor operational performance, including visit volume, provider productivity, and access metrics.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of clinical and administrative staff.
  • Direct departmental budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS guidelines, NCQA PCMH recognition, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Integrate population health strategies, including HEDIS/STAR metric tracking, RAF/MIPS optimization, and panel management.
  • Partner with IT and EHR teams to maintain effective digital workflows, data integrity, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with clinical and executive leadership on strategic growth, service line expansion, and community outreach.
