About The Position

This position directs all aspects of our Operations department and support services including opening/closing, intake, resource distribution, inventory control, facility maintenance, guest services, and security. The role provides oversight for the Guest Services, Facility, Resources, Security, and Kitchen Teams, ensuring staff operate in alignment with ministry values, spiritual purpose, and best practices for care. The Director cultivates a department-wide culture of unity, clarity, accountability, communication, and collaboration, maintaining a strong leadership presence by attending team meetings, engaging with staff, and remaining available. This role leads the Operations team strategically to accomplish the mission of OurCalling and its 3 C's, empowering managers to lead effectively, uphold expectations, and ensure team accountability. Key responsibilities include accurate reporting and monthly submission of KPIs, qualitative updates, and ministry outcomes, replicating leadership team structures and communication patterns within Operations teams, and leading the development of annual and quarterly team goals and KPIs. Performance evaluation of teams and direct reports is crucial, addressing declines quickly through accountability and coaching, and conducting annual evaluations of direct reports. The Director will also conduct quarterly evaluations of best practices and use staff to teach peers, manage and meet 1:1 with direct reports at least twice a month, attend direct report team meetings at least twice a month, and facilitate the weekly Operations Department Meeting. Maintaining and updating department Playbooks and SOPs, overseeing building, kitchen, and fleet compliance, creating disaster preparedness plans, and sitting on the Inclement Weather Taskforce are also key duties.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations leadership
  • Knowledge in building maintenance and compliance required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Pastoral heart for vulnerable populations
  • Strong relational and mentoring skills
  • Ability to communicate Scripture clearly and faithfully
  • Ability to build volunteer teams and lead them
  • A growing and mature relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Ability to clearly articulate the Gospel and personal testimony

Nice To Haves

  • focus in business administration, operations management, or supply chain management preferred
  • Experience serving vulnerable populations preferred
  • Biblical training or ministry education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for the Guest Services, Facility, Resources, Security, and Kitchen Teams

  • Evaluate team performance monthly, addressing declines quickly through accountability and coaching
  • Evaluate direct reports annually according to their job descriptions
  • Conduct quarterly evaluations of what is working (best practices) and use staff to teach peers
  • Manage and meet 1:1 with direct reports at least twice a month
  • Attend direct report team meetings at least twice a month
  • Facilitate weekly Operation’s Department Meeting
  • Maintain and continually update the department’s Playbooks and SOPs
  • Oversee building, kitchen and fleet compliance
  • Create plans for various disaster preparedness
  • Sit on the Inclement Weather Taskforce and support the COO in preparing the teams and plans for IWS
