About The Position

Ideal Siding is looking for a hands-on Director of Operations to lead operational execution and franchisee support across our growing network. This role focuses on improving day-to-day operations, strengthening systems and processes, managing operational KPIs, supporting training, and helping franchisees succeed. The ideal candidate has experience in construction, trades, franchising, home services, or multi-location operations, and is practical, organized, and strong at turning operational issues into clear action plans.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of operations leadership experience in construction, trades, franchising, home services, field operations, or multi-location businesses.
  • Experience leading teams, managing KPIs, improving processes, and supporting operational execution.
  • Experience working with franchisees, business owners, field teams, or distributed locations is strongly preferred.
  • Experience creating SOPs, workflows, training materials, and operational systems.
  • Experience with safety programs, technical standards, jobsite coordination, or installation workflows is an asset.
  • Siding, exterior renovation, construction, or trades experience is a strong asset.
  • Experience or familiarity with EOS, Lean Six Sigma, or similar process improvement and accountability frameworks is a strong asset.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills across franchisees, field teams, internal teams, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and keep projects moving.
  • Comfortable working with KPIs, job boards, dashboards, and performance data.
  • Strong documentation skills, including SOPs, checklists, manuals, and training guides.
  • Comfortable presenting, facilitating training, and leading group discussions or webinars.
  • Strong understanding of jobsite coordination, construction workflows, customer escalations, and field execution.
  • Technical knowledge of siding installation, LP, Hardie, or similar materials is a strong asset.
  • Organized, practical, and detail-oriented.
  • Calm under pressure and strong at resolving issues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operational execution across corporate and franchise locations.
  • Support the Operations team through clear priorities, coaching, follow-up, and accountability.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Support escalations related to jobsite issues, customer concerns, franchisee challenges, and process gaps.
  • Ensure locations follow company SOPs, safety standards, quality expectations, and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal teams when operational alignment is needed.
  • Support operational planning for franchise events, conferences, training sessions, and workshops as needed.
  • Act as a senior operational resource for franchisees across the network.
  • Support franchisee performance in customer satisfaction, efficiency, compliance, quality, and execution.
  • Help franchisees with job flow, install coordination, quoting, material lists, crew planning, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with newer franchisees to review job boards, install status, coordination issues, and operational priorities.
  • Identify performance gaps and support corrective action plans when standards are not being met.
  • Help franchisees adopt approved tools, suppliers, processes, and operating standards.
  • Support franchisee training, including pre-training, training week, refresher training, and ongoing operational training.
  • Deliver or support 1:1 coaching, group coaching, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Train franchisees and internal team members on operational systems, best practices, and execution standards.
  • Support technical training related to siding installation, including LP, Hardie, and similar materials.
  • Provide support for challenging installation or jobsite issues.
  • Help reduce rework, warranty claims, and customer escalations through better training, safety practices, and quality-control processes.
  • Create, refine, and maintain SOPs, templates, manuals, checklists, walkthroughs, and training documentation.
  • Support the rollout of new tools, software systems, platforms, and operational workflows.
  • Monitor adoption of processes and systems across franchise locations.
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend scalable improvements.
  • Build practical reporting tools, dashboards, and accountability systems.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturers on training, product updates, and operational improvements.
