About The Position

Burly Boyz Moving & Storage is a strong four-province moving and storage company with four depots and approximately 24 trucks. They are hiring their first Director of Operations to take the company to the next level. The initial focus for the first year will be to immerse in the operation, learn how every move runs across Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto, and improve field operations (crews, foremen, execution, customer satisfaction). Following this, the role will lead expansion by establishing new locations and integrating acquisitions. This position offers significant growth potential, including a future COO role, with the expectation that the individual will own the operations domain and make decisions independently.

Requirements

Experience running a multi-site, crew-and-fleet field operation (e.g., logistics, freight, last-mile, distribution, courier, restoration).
Proven ability to own operational margin and identify cost savings.
Experience building or scaling operations hands-on.
Credibility in both field operations and financial/numerical analysis.
Ability to operate independently without a large company playbook or extensive buffers.

Responsibilities

Learn and understand all aspects of the operation across multiple locations.
Improve field operations, including crew efficiency, foreman performance, execution quality, and customer satisfaction.
Lead the expansion of the company by establishing new locations.
Integrate acquisitions into the existing operational framework.
Own and manage operational margin, identifying cost savings and efficiencies.
Build and scale operational processes from the ground up.
