About The Position

USA Compression Partners, LP, (NYSE: USAC) provides mission-critical natural gas compression services to large upstream and midstream energy companies. The Director of Operations is a Senior Leadership role within USA Compression reporting to the Senior Director of Operations. The position will be responsible for the execution of USA fleet maintenance philosophies, standards, and plans as well as customer satisfaction. Direct reports will range from 5-8 Area Service Managers and up to 300,000 HP of natural gas compression equipment. The Director of Operations will be accountable for improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through effective processes and strategies. A strong financial acumen with the ability to manage the P&L and accurately prepare and execute an expense and capital budget are critical.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (business, industrial technology, engineering) or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in the natural gas compression industry.
  • Must possess strong influence and teaming skills in order to facilitate solutions and good working relationships with their direct reports and team, support groups and other operating areas.
  • Extensive knowledge of natural gas compression equipment and processes.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal.
  • Experience in team-related organizations and adept at conflict management.
  • Experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Strong business acumen and utilization and management of human capital.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication from the company and supervisor including training, procedures, instructions, etc.
  • Applicant must have the ability to legally work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safety adherence and ensuring all service standards are met.
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, motivating, performance management, pay increases, disciplinary actions and dismissals following the company policy and procedures.
  • Engage in the business, take ownership for the function, and work cross-functionally with other regional operations teams to set standards, drive consistency and determine best practices to be communicated across the company.
  • Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services and facilitate the coordination and communication between support functions.
  • Responsible for hiring, retention, development and training of the operations team.
  • Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability.
  • Prepare and control operation budgets.
  • Facilitate inventory and plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
  • Manage quality and employee productivity
  • Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery, and provide technical support where needed.
  • Liaison with top management and assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
