We are looking for a hands-on Director of Operations who thrives on building strong teams, improving processes, and delivering results. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a growing facility, influence key business outcomes, and play a critical role in shaping our continued success.   The Director of Operations is responsible for developing and implementing all operational and safety policies and procedures within manufacturing facility, ensuring that production and all staff members maintain compliance with all plant-wide and legal regulations. Responsible for plant production goals and foster a well-trained and motivated staff.

Requirements

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Distance vision, Color vision, Peripheral vision, and Depth perception.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Majority of day should be on the production floor to facilitate growth of staff, ensure GMP/PPE compliance and production numbers are being met.
  • Able to support plant 24/7.
  • Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff.
  • Monitor employee production and satisfaction.
  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep company accident-free.
  • Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment.
  • Will always practice good housekeeping to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite.
  • Lead shift handoff meeting at morning shift change with Production, Maintenance, and Quality leaders.
  • Update and send daily corporate reports each morning.
  • Works closely with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics to ensure schedule is well planned and teams are prepared for upcoming events.
  • Works closely with Human Resources to manage staffing and training programs.
  • Interview and hire production staff.
  • Oversee and review staffing ensuring 100% coverage for PTO.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with staff with focus on review of KPIs, continuous improvement projects, and other areas needing focus.
  • Reduce costs in manufacturing without reduction in OEE.
  • Oversee, monitor, and direct coordination of company issued equipment, to include communication devices, laptops, iPads, and tools.
  • Other duties may be assigned
