Position Summary : The Director of Operations leads end-to-end manufacturing performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost and talent development within a regulated medical device environment. This role is accountable for operational excellence, FDA and ISO compliance, capacity growth, margin improvement and building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This role requires a floor-present leader who can align teams, translate strategy into action and lead cross-functional change effectively.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a regulated (QSR, ISO 13485, and the MDD) high tolerance machining environment, preferably in the medical device industry
  • At least 3 years of this experience in a management position including broad involvement in and demonstrated knowledge of planning and managing the entire production process to include purchase order review, scheduling, machining, secondary processing, cleaning, assembly, shipping and quality control
  • Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work well independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall manufacturing performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity
  • Own operating rhythms, KPIs and escalation processes to ensure predictable execution
  • Drive Lean manufacturing, standard work and process capability improvements
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain and Global Operations sites
  • Build, develop and retain high-performing leadership teams
  • Improve throughput, equipment utilization and on-time delivery
  • Lead operational readiness to support growth, insourcing and new product introductions
  • Create and manage departmental budgets and related expenses
  • Support capital planning and cost improvement initiatives
  • Communicate expectations, performance and strategic initiatives clearly and consistently across the organization
  • Improve capacity, efficiency and profitability through equipment modernization, facility upgrades and manufacturing system enhancements in partnership with cross-functional teams
