About The Position

American Industrial Contractors is seeking a motivated HVAC Director of Operations to oversee daily operations in Greensboro, NC. This role is responsible for supporting and supervising department managers and ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality services to commercial and industrial clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of HVAC industry experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, construction processes, and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Experience managing P&L for a department or division.
  • Ability to read and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise, mentor, and support department leaders.
  • In collaboration with EHS Director, ensure all team members follow company safety policies and industry best practices.
  • Manage day-to-day field and production operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversee scheduling of jobs in coordination with the project management and customer service teams.
  • Track job progress and resolve delays or operational issues to ensure timely completion.
  • Monitor workload, assign teams appropriately, and ensure adequate staffing coverage to deliver quality work.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and purchasing teams to ensure parts and materials are available as needed.
  • Collaborate with NPC Shared Services team for Financial, IT, HR, and Safety needs.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for escalated customer issues and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior leadership and participate in operational strategy meetings.
  • Perform regular inspections of work in progress to ensure quality control and code compliance.
  • Pursue objectives of insuring installations follow industry standards and best practices, and inspections pass on initial attempts.
