About The Position

The City of Beloit is currently accepting applications for an exciting career opportunity as the Director of Operations in the Operations Division of the Public Works Department. The Director of Operations performs managerial and professional work in the administration of the Operations Division. This position has primary responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and managing the programs, activities and staff of the four subdivisions of the Operations Division: Streets, Fleet, Solid Waste and Facilities Maintenance which includes duties such as fleet repair and maintenance, building and facility maintenance, street repair and maintenance; street cleaning; snow and ice control; solid waste management; and other related programs and activities.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Natural Resource Management, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of responsible supervisory experience in a public works setting.
  • FEMA Emergency Management Trainings IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800, ICS-300, ICS-400 or ability to obtain within eighteen (18) months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two (2) years of professional managerial experience involving budgetary, program development, planning, and comprehensive supervisory responsibilities.
