About The Position

Campus is seeking a Director of Operations to support and scale critical operational areas. The primary focus for the first year will be Financial Aid and the associated operational processes, ensuring the team has the right systems, processes, and reporting for smooth operation. This role may expand to other operational areas as Campus grows. Reporting to the COO, the Director will collaborate with Financial Aid leaders and cross-functional partners to optimize daily operations, resolve bottlenecks, and design scalable processes that enhance both student and staff experiences. This is a builder role focused on identifying inefficiencies and creating technology-enabled solutions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, with a track record of improving or building processes in complex organizations.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a bias toward action and measurable results.
  • Experience implementing technology-driven process improvements.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must have current and ongoing authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Financial Aid leaders and key stakeholders to keep critical student-facing operations running smoothly.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the COO on operational risks, opportunities, and resource planning.
  • Support critical processes such as aid applications, disbursements, billing, refunds, and payment plans — ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Improve workflows and design scalable processes that increase efficiency and quality.
  • Create and maintain SOPs that keep cross-functional teams (Admissions, Registrar, Student Success, Financial Aid, Product, etc.) aligned and consistent in how student-facing processes are executed.
  • Partner with Product/Eng to roll out tech solutions that streamline operations and improve the student experience.
  • Establish performance metrics and dashboards to monitor progress, identify issues early, and continuously improve service.
  • Flex into new operational areas over time as Campus continues to scale.
