Reporting to the CEO, this role provides overall clinical leadership and operational oversight for all programs and services at the Chatham Kent sites. The Director of Operations will manage direct reports, focusing on delegation, supervision, equity, performance management, coaching, and appraisals. This position is also responsible for staff development through modeling, coaching, and training, and providing leadership to management on effective human resource utilization. Key responsibilities include monitoring site operational budgets, providing mandatory reporting to the Board Quality Committee, and developing and implementing operational goals aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. The role involves collaborating with the CEO and leadership team on the Operations Plan and developing organizational performance measurements. Additionally, the Director will serve as an organizational resource for internal and external committees and task forces, acting as a liaison with community partners like CKOHT and CKHA. Collaboration with funders and partners, or leadership through direct reports in this process, is also a critical function.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in Social Work or related discipline with a current registration, Master’s Degree in Nursing with current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, a Registered Social Worker or Registered Nurse with current registration.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience in a community health or community mental health service delivery organization.
  • Valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Healthcare Management, leadership, or clearly demonstrated experience at a senior management level would be considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to a qualified candidate who is proficient in both official languages.

Responsibilities

  • Provides overall clinical leadership and operational oversight to all programs and services at Chatham Kent sites.
  • Manages direct reports including but not limited to: delegation of work and establishing job performance measures, day-to-day supervision, equity of opportunities, managing performance, coaching, conducting performance appraisals, etc.
  • Development of staff through modeling, coaching and training opportunities.
  • Provides leadership to Management regarding effective utilization of human resources.
  • Monitors site operational budgets developed in conjunction with the finance team.
  • Provides mandatory reporting to the Board Quality Committee.
  • Develops and participates in the implementation of operational goals to meet the strategic objectives of the organization; Monitors progress and goal attainment.
  • Develops in conjunction with the CEO and the leadership team the Operations Plan for the organization.
  • In coordination with Leadership and Decision Support develops organizational performance measurements to monitor attainment of operational goals and objectives.
  • Serves as the organizational resource or delegate to internal and external advisory committees, task forces and community projects, including acting as a liaison with CKOHT, CKHA and other community partners as required.
  • Develops collaborative working relationships with funders, partners etc., or provides leadership through direct reports to this process.
