About The Position

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, growth, and overall performance of Entera, a division of Enterhealth focused on integrative and functional medicine. This role ensures that clinical and administrative operations work together effectively to provide an exceptional patient experience while supporting the organization's clinical, financial, and strategic goals. The Director of Operations will work closely with physicians, clinical providers, administrative staff, and Enterhealth leadership to develop efficient workflows, strengthen operational processes, support business growth, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and hands-on leader who is comfortable working in a growing healthcare environment and understands how to balance excellent patient care with operational efficiency and business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, preferred RN, active licensure
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive healthcare operations or practice management experience, with leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing clinical or outpatient healthcare operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams, workflows, budgets, and operational performance.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to develop processes and bring structure to a growing or evolving organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with physicians, providers, employees, patients, and senior leadership.
  • Comfortable using data and key performance indicators to evaluate performance and make operational decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with integrative medicine, functional medicine, wellness, concierge medicine, or other patient-centered healthcare models is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of Entera and ensure efficient coordination across clinical and administrative functions.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational processes, policies, and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient access, service delivery, and overall organizational performance.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, resources, and operational support are in place to meet patient and provider needs.
  • Partner with Enterhealth leadership to establish operational priorities and support the strategic direction of the division.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to administrative and operational team members.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, collaborative, and patient-focused culture.
  • Establish clear expectations and performance standards for staff.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, professional development, and performance management.
  • Work closely with clinical leadership to promote effective communication and collaboration between providers and administrative teams.
  • Ensure patients receive a high-quality, personalized experience throughout their care journey.
  • Monitor patient feedback and identify opportunities to improve communication, responsiveness, scheduling, and service.
  • Develop processes that support patient engagement, retention, and continuity of care.
  • Address operational concerns or service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and monitor budgets, operating expenses, revenue, and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Evaluate staffing levels, provider utilization, scheduling capacity, and other factors that impact productivity and profitability.
  • Support the development and implementation of new programs, services, and revenue opportunities.
  • Assist with vendor relationships, contracts, purchasing, and resource management as appropriate.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives for Entera and its integrative and functional medicine services.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, outreach, and business development teams to increase awareness and patient engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services, improve patient access, and strengthen referral relationships.
  • Support the successful operational implementation of new providers, programs, partnerships, and service lines.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to ensure providers have the operational resources and support necessary to deliver high-quality care.
  • Help establish efficient workflows for functional and integrative medicine services, including patient intake, scheduling, testing, follow-up, and ongoing care coordination.
  • Support the integration of clinical services with administrative and patient-facing operations.
  • Maintain an understanding of the unique operational needs associated with integrative and functional medicine.
  • Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with applicable healthcare regulations, organizational policies, and established standards.
  • Partner with appropriate leadership to support HIPAA compliance, patient privacy, documentation standards, and quality initiatives.
  • Identify operational risks and implement appropriate corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
