DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Americase IncWaxahachie, TX

About The Position

Americase is the flagship entity of Americase International — a $100M precision manufacturing operation based in Waxahachie, TX producing engineered protective packaging for high-value goods and hazardous material containment across defense, aviation, energy, semiconductor, and lithium battery markets. Americase operates a 103,000 sq. ft. world-class facility spanning 5-axis CNC milling, turning, waterjet, routing, press brake, laser/punch, automated panel bending, welding, assembly, and more. The operation is certified to AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management standards and built on an Operational Excellence manufacturing culture. The Director of Operations is the primary enabling and resourcing leader for Americase's manufacturing operation — ensuring that the resources required to fulfill every commitment made to customers are in place, coordinated, and performing at the highest level. This role is the operational backbone of Americase. The Director of Operations is the person responsible for making sure the factory can deliver — on time, at quality, and at cost. This person owns the manufacturing floor, the production cadence, the supply chain, and the cross-functional coordination that keeps all of it moving. Beyond Americase's day-to-day operations, the Director of Operations carries meaningful influence across the Americase International portfolio through deep expertise in business process design and value stream mapping. The role is a key resource and thought partner where operational processes across HSC, Fulcrum, or ESA can be improved, standardized, or aligned with Americase best practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in a precision manufacturing, custom fabrication, or similarly complex production environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Operational Excellence and LEAN manufacturing — not as a certification, but as a deeply embedded operating philosophy with measurable results in cycle time reduction, waste elimination, and throughput improvement.
  • Experience leading cross-functional manufacturing teams: production planning, supply chain, quality, and EHS.
  • Track record of building and holding operational accountability — developing supervisors and front-line leaders, maintaining performance standards, and creating the visibility and discipline that keeps a complex operation on track.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems in an active manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with business process design and value stream mapping in a manufacturing or multi-entity services environment.
  • Familiarity with precision metalworking processes: CNC milling and turning, fabrication, welding, finishing (powdercoat, anodize, paint, chromate).
  • Background in made-to-order and custom manufacturing environments with diverse product lines and variable demand profiles.
  • Experience with production planning and scheduling systems, particularly in a high-mix, low-volume custom manufacturing context.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day manufacturing operation at Americase's Waxahachie facility — ensuring that all production departments (milling and turning, fabrication, assembly, finishing) are staffed, resourced, and executing against the production schedule.
  • Lead the manufacturing supervision team: setting expectations, holding performance standards, and developing front-line and mid-level operations leadership across all production functions.
  • Maintain AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management system compliance — partnering with the Quality Control manager to ensure that the operating culture, documentation, and process discipline required for certification are embedded in daily practice, not treated as a compliance exercise.
  • Drive Operational Excellence development and discipline across the organization: leading continuous improvement initiatives, eliminating waste, reducing cycle time, streamlining value streams and improving throughput and on-time delivery performance.
  • Own the operational KPIs that matter: OTD (on-time delivery), quality escape rate, internal rejection rate, rework rate, and efficiency — ensuring each metric is visible, owned, and managed.
  • Serve as the primary resource and enabling function for the sales and executive team: ensuring that before any commitment is made to a customer, the operational capacity, materials, and labor required to fulfill it are understood, planned for, and in place.
  • Coordinate the resources required to execute the production plan: workforce planning, equipment readiness, and material availability across all product lines and customer commitments.
  • Partner with the leadership team to provide realistic, accurate operational input into deal structure, pricing, and delivery commitments — the Director of Operations is the voice of manufacturing reality in commercial conversations.
  • Own the production planning function: ensuring that the master schedule reflects actual capacity, that material requirements are planned in advance, and that bottlenecks are identified and resolved before they become customer problems.
  • Oversee supply chain and procurement for Americase's manufacturing operation: vendor selection and performance management, material availability, inventory efficiency, and logistics coordination.
  • Manage key supplier relationships for the specialty materials central to both HVG (High Value Goods) and HazMat product lines.
  • Partner with the CFO on capital investment planning for equipment, tooling, and plant capabilities — providing operational justification and ROI analysis for significant capital expenditures.
  • Own plant EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) in partnership with the Maintenance and Facility Manager — maintaining a safety culture consistent with a world-class organization.
  • Oversee facilities management for the Waxahachie operation, including equipment maintenance, physical security, and plant readiness.
  • Apply deep expertise in business process design and value stream mapping across the Americase International portfolio — serving as a resource and thought partner for HSC, Fulcrum, and ESA as they build and improve their own operational processes.
  • Partner with the COO to identify where Americase's operational best practices — LEAN discipline, quality systems, production cadence, workforce management — can be adapted and applied to portfolio companies at earlier stages of operational maturity.
  • Participate in Americase International cross-functional discussions where operational infrastructure, process design, and resource coordination across entities are on the agenda.
