About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting in the overall management and operations of a hotel. The role requires strong leadership skills to drive revenue, maximize profit, and ensure quality. The Director of Operations will effectively manage assigned staff to ensure the achievement of overall financial results, guest satisfaction, and positive employee relations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive hotel management experience required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple hotel and corporate priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Must have the ability to effectively problem solve with all.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills.

  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves business revenue goals by developing and implementing service programs designed to increase guest satisfaction in all outlets.
  • Develops and implements changes to hotel operations based on sales and guest comments.
  • Manages hotel expenses to maximize hotel profitability.
  • Manages labor effectively in assigned departments through proper scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting based on business needs.
  • Follows procurement guidelines and applies good business judgment.
  • Assists with the preparation and management of the hotel budget and assigned administrative and/or accounting tasks.
  • Manages and maintains company assets to stay within budget guidelines and prolong the life of company resources.
  • Ensures guest satisfaction by ensuring service standards are met and guests’ needs are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Resolves guests’ complaints in a courteous and friendly manner, focusing on service recovery when applicable.
  • Trains and models appropriate guest service standards and brand standards.
  • Assists in the training of employees and ensures training records are maintained.
  • Analyzes quality issues, identifies training needs, and ensures implementation to improve results.
  • Utilizes available resources and adheres to training policies.
  • Ensures all CSM, brand, and department-specific training requirements are met.
  • Conducts routine inspections of hotel operations to maintain standards per CSM, brand, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensures a clean and safe work environment, and follows all CSM procedures for guest/employee incidents.
  • Works with Human Resources on interviewing, hiring, coaching, and development of employees.
  • Evaluates staff performance and takes appropriate corrective action as needed.
  • Motivates staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing employees.
  • Manages workload effectively.
  • Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Promotes collaboration and a positive, professional work environment.
  • Attends all daily, weekly, and/or monthly department/hotel meetings to ensure proper communication/planning occurs.
  • Adheres to all CSM Standard Operating Procedures.
