About The Position

The primary function of the Director of Hockey Operations is to assist the Head Coach and coaching staff in every facet of the operation of the women’s NCAA Division 1 hockey program, consistent with the policies of Sacred Heart University, the NCAA, and the New England Women’s Hockey Alliance. This position involves contributing to the overall student-athlete experience of each player in every aspect of their daily life, both on and off the ice.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is required
Experience playing at the collegiate level or experience coaching at the collegiate level.
Must have the ability to conduct business professionally.
Must have strong interpersonal, writing, and leadership skills.
Recruiting experience and solid understanding and knowledge of NCAA recruiting regulations.
Must be committed to assisting with the development of the student-athletes as each strives for excellence on the ice, in the classroom, and in the community.

Nice To Haves

Experience breaking down game tape and providing reports for the head coach is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach and coaching staff in the continuing development of a successful NCAA Division 1 women’s hockey program, which includes providing a positive environment conducive to personal growth and development of the student-athletes as each strives for excellence on the ice, in the classroom, and in the community.
Assist in the preparation and coordination of Team travel, which includes securing bus transportation, air transportation, hotels, and coordination of team meals.
Assist the Head Coach and coaching staff in coordinating and analyzing video breakdown evaluation with pre-game preparation for upcoming opponents – post game analysis factoring in the predetermined tracking of statistics and analytics, using Playsite, INSTAT, HUDL, Catapult, and other video platforms.
In-game live coding to equip the coaching staff for game adjustments- and coaches' challenges and replays in a media suite (press box) setting.
Utilizing the NCAA – NEWHA Video exchange program on Catapult - Uploading full games – and clips for supplemental discipline issues.
Putting together clips from NHL games to support cutting-edge analysis of systems and highlights (Team Hype video clips)
Assist the Head Coach and coaching staff in coordinating video breakdown evaluation in the recruitment of high-caliber Division 1 student-athletes that demonstrate academic proficiency, athletic excellence, and outstanding character.
Assist in the coordination of (select) prospective student-athlete recruits' NCAA unofficial visits and official visits to the campus. This includes coordinating travel arrangements, setting itineraries, procuring student-athlete hosts, housing, meals, campus tours, game tickets, academic appointments, and meeting with the coaching staff.
Completing and maintaining recruiting records as required by the NCAA.
Contributing to and monitoring of Team's social media content, as well as potential prospective student-athlete recruits
Coordination and compilation of statistics pertinent to the women’s ice hockey program
Performs other miscellaneous/administrative duties pertaining to the program as assigned by the Head Coach, including completing Team compliance CARA (Countable Athletic Related Activity) logs as required by the NCAA.
Abide by all NCAA, NEWHA Conference, and Sacred Heart University regulations, policies, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
