About The Position

This role will help institutionalize knowledge, build strong processes and lead our team through the next phase of expansion. The Director of Operations / Business Continuity Manager oversees day‑to‑day functions while designing systems that allow the business to operate smoothly even when key personnel are unavailable. You will coordinate across departments, standardize procedures, document critical information and lead cross‑training and succession initiatives. The role reports directly to the owner/CEO and requires both hands‑on operational management and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in operations management, business administration or a related field.
  • Proven ability to design and implement policies, procedures and standardized processes across departments.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, KPI tracking and resource management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and mentor staff.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement, cross‑training and succession planning.
  • Proficiency with business software (productivity suites, project management tools, CRM/ERP).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations or related discipline (advanced degree or certifications a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Run daily operations: coordinate activities across sales, marketing, finance, customer service and field teams; assign priorities and monitor performance.
  • Standardize and document processes: develop policies and procedures, capture institutional knowledge and ensure critical information is accessible to others.
  • Cross‑train and develop staff: implement programs that teach employees critical skills, identify high‑potential team members and prepare them to step into key roles.
  • Improve efficiency and profitability: analyze workflows and budgets, identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Manage budgets and resources: prepare operating budgets, oversee spending, track key metrics and collaborate with finance on forecasting.
  • Lead hiring and training: recruit and onboard new employees, supervise staff and ensure consistency in training and performance expectations.
  • Maintain relationships: serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, clients and partners, ensuring reliable service and communication.
  • Develop continuity plans: create transition and contingency plans to keep the business running during absences or turnover and regularly test and update these plans.
  • Support strategic planning: work with the CEO to translate vision into actionable objectives, identify growth opportunities and manage change.
