About The Position
D'Youville Life & Wellness Community, a faith-based, nonprofit organization established in 1960, provides short-term rehabilitation and skilled geriatric care. We are seeking a Director of Nursing to lead our nursing department and uphold our commitment to compassionate care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Currently licensed as an RN – Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
- Two years of Director of Nursing (DON) experience.
- Two years of Long-Term Care experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop nursing objectives and performance standards.
- Ensure nursing service compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Direct, evaluate, and supervise all resident care, initiating corrective action as needed.
- Assess resident care needs and assist in developing individualized care plans.
- Report problems to the Administrator and Medical Director, and conduct daily resident rounds.
- Direct and supervise employee scheduling.
- Assist in recruiting, counseling, interviewing, and disciplinary actions.
- Direct and implement nursing service educational programs.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the nursing service budget.
- Direct the allocation of nursing service equipment and supplies.
- Handle inquiries for resident placement as assigned by the Admissions Office.
- Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Assess resident medication response and treatment, making recommendations.
