About The Position

Avalon Care Center Bellingham, a CMS 5-Star Rated Facility located in Bellingham, Washington, is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead a highly engaged clinical team. This role is critical in shaping resident outcomes, supporting staff development, and fostering a culture of clinical excellence. The position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a real impact on residents and families within established skilled nursing and rehabilitation programs, as well as specialized clinical programs and resident-centered care.

Requirements

• Current Washington RN license (or NLC-eligible)
• Nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care
• Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Proven ability to develop teams and drive clinical outcomes

Responsibilities

• Lead all nursing operations within the facility
• Develop, mentor, and support nursing leaders and staff
• Drive quality outcomes and resident satisfaction
• Ensure regulatory compliance and survey readiness
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and departmental performance
• Partner with the Administrator to achieve clinical and operational goals
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence
