Director of Nursing (DON)
About The Position
Lead with heart and purpose as a Director of Nursing (DON) in a skilled nursing facility where your leadership helps create a supportive, resident-centered environment that truly feels like home! This role is a Full-Time Opportunity. The Director of Nursing is responsible for organizing, developing, managing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the community. The DON works directly with the Administrator and the Medical Director to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained for each resident at all times. This includes following all health, sanitary, and infection control policies and maintaining established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN within the state in which you work.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role in a nursing community or other related healthcare community, preferably in long term care.
- Basic computer skills and ability to navigate through various software programs, including electronic health record software.
Responsibilities
- Organize, develop, manage, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
- Work directly with the Administrator and the Medical Director to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained for each resident at all times.
- Follow all health, sanitary and infection control policies.
- Maintain established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.
