About The Position

Tracy Surgery Center is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and hands-on Director of Nursing (DON) to lead its clinical operations and nursing services team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, infection prevention initiatives, and operational best practices. The Director of Nursing will work closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, executive leadership, and all clinical staff to support efficient daily operations, clinical excellence, staff development, and patient safety initiatives. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current state Registered Nurse License required.
  • Current American Heart Assn. BLS and ACLS certifications also required.
  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in an ambulatory surgery center, perioperative services, or surgical setting preferred
  • Experience in perioperative nursing, PACU, Pre-Op, & OR services preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing and clinical operations throughout the center
  • Ensure compliance with AAAHC, CMS, OSHA, CDC, AORN, and regulatory standards
  • Oversee infection prevention, quality assurance, QAPI, and patient safety programs
  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership teams to optimize patient care and operational workflows
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance management of clinical staff
  • Create & monitor staffing schedules, productivity, and clinical competencies
  • Promote a positive culture of teamwork, accountability, communication, and professionalism
  • Assist with policy development, implementation, and ongoing regulatory readiness
  • Participate in accreditation surveys, audits, mock surveys, and continuous readiness initiatives
  • Lead clinical education initiatives and competency programs
  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Respond to patient concerns and support service recovery initiatives when needed
