About The Position

The Director of Nursing (DON) provides operational and clinical leadership for the assigned market, facility, or program portfolio. This role is accountable for nursing operations, regulatory oversight, workforce engagement, quality outcomes, staff accountability, and strategic market support. The DON translates enterprise nursing strategy into consistent site-level execution, strengthens the credibility and readiness of the assigned market, and ensures nursing practice meets organizational, regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety expectations. This position also supports growth readiness by building stable nursing operations, developing leaders, improving workforce performance, and maintaining sustainable quality and compliance outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including 2 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
  • Experience leading nursing operations in behavioral health, crisis, inpatient, residential, community-based, outpatient, or integrated care settings.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory readiness, medication management, clinical documentation, patient safety, incident response, and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead leaders, manage performance, interpret operational data, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to maintain leadership visibility, support survey readiness, and respond to urgent operational needs.
  • Active RN license in good standing for the applicable state or jurisdiction of practice.
  • For Arizona: Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • State issued drivers license (valid and in good standing).
  • Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
