About The Position

The Director of Nursing (DON) will oversee the implementation and evaluation of care plans to ensure the provision of comprehensive and person-centered care. This role involves monitoring residents' health conditions, medication administration, and coordinating with physicians and other healthcare providers. The DON will also develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain the highest quality of care. Additionally, the position requires providing ongoing training, coaching, and mentorship to the healthcare team, fostering effective communication and collaboration with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, staying updated with industry trends, and monitoring resident satisfaction are key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required in state of practice.
  • LPN or LVN licensure is required in state of practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an RN or LPN in assisted living, skilled nursing, or a related field is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in assisted living, skilled nursing, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and evaluation of care plans to ensure the provision of comprehensive and person-centered care.
  • Monitor residents' health conditions, medication administration, and coordinate with physicians and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain the highest quality of care.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentorship to the healthcare team, ensuring their knowledge and skills align with current best practices and regulatory requirements to foster a positive work environment.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with residents, families, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing healthcare services within an assisted living community.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, evidence-based practices, and regulatory changes to continuously improve the quality of care provided.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction through surveys, feedback, and other means, and make necessary improvements to the resident experience program.
