About The Position

The Director of Nursing (DON) at Heritage Woods of Greenbriar in Indianapolis, IN, is responsible for conducting initial assessments of prospective residents, performing wellness assessments, and developing individualized care plans. The DON delivers health promotion services, disease prevention counseling, and self-care education. This role involves engaging with residents and their families compassionately, fostering communication with physicians and healthcare providers, and leading the clinical team. Key responsibilities include coordinating the infection control program, overseeing the medication management program, and contributing to quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, all while ensuring compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations.

Requirements

  • Current state nursing licensure. LPN required, RN preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the readiness to mentor, motivate, and inspire team members
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to serve with love, compassion, and dignity

  • Prior senior/supportive living experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts initial assessment of prospective residents, including off-site visits
  • Performs wellness assessments and develops individualized care plans based on the needs and preferences of each resident
  • Delivers health promotion services, offers disease prevention counseling, and provides self-care education to residents
  • Engages with residents and family members in a compassionate and impactful manner, creating a lasting and positive experience
  • Fosters communication by regularly engaging with physicians, pertinent healthcare providers, and family members
  • Hires, trains, schedules, and leads the clinical team in providing exceptional care experiences
  • Coordinates the Community’s infection control program while maintaining state regulatory compliance
  • Develop and oversee the Community’s medication management program
  • Contributes toward quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Complies with all rules and regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy of resident information
