This is a full-time Director of Nursing position overseeing two Emergency Departments (EDs) at Lovelace Medical Center and Heart Hospital. Requirements

Bachelor's in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required. Effective 9/1/19, if applicant does not have a BSN, must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program with a scheduled date of completion.
Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing.
Minimum of five (or 3-5) years of clinical nursing experience, of which 3 (or 2) years must have been in a management capacity.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in nursing and/or related field preferred.
Strongly prefer experience in emergency department.
Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute strategic planning, lead mentoring/coaching, and identify department succession strategy.
Oversight of two EDs at Lovelace Medical Center and Heart Hospital.
Oversight of physician relationships and engagement.
Collaborate with marketing and nursing leadership in marketing, community outreach, and visibility.
Develop and oversee quality initiatives, staffing and productivity guidelines, and customer service goals.
Analyze and monitor compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.
Plan and organize orientation and in-service training for staff members and participate in guidance and educational programs.
Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, standards, and programs that support unit/departments.
Develop and submit budget strategies and capital budgets for the unit/departments.
Use forecasted budget to guide expenditure decisions.
Initiate activities to enhance revenues and support cost reduction and containment activities.
Demonstrate empathy and intentionally work to put others at ease.
