About The Position

This is a full-time Director of Nursing position overseeing two Emergency Departments (EDs) at Lovelace Medical Center and Heart Hospital. Requirements

  • Bachelor's in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required. Effective 9/1/19, if applicant does not have a BSN, must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program with a scheduled date of completion.
  • Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of five (or 3-5) years of clinical nursing experience, of which 3 (or 2) years must have been in a management capacity.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in nursing and/or related field preferred.
  • Strongly prefer experience in emergency department.
  • Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute strategic planning, lead mentoring/coaching, and identify department succession strategy.
  • Oversight of two EDs at Lovelace Medical Center and Heart Hospital.
  • Oversight of physician relationships and engagement.
  • Collaborate with marketing and nursing leadership in marketing, community outreach, and visibility.
  • Develop and oversee quality initiatives, staffing and productivity guidelines, and customer service goals.
  • Analyze and monitor compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.
  • Plan and organize orientation and in-service training for staff members and participate in guidance and educational programs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, standards, and programs that support unit/departments.
  • Develop and submit budget strategies and capital budgets for the unit/departments.
  • Use forecasted budget to guide expenditure decisions.
  • Initiate activities to enhance revenues and support cost reduction and containment activities.
  • Demonstrate empathy and intentionally work to put others at ease.
