About The Position

The Archer Administration Director of Nursing provides leadership and has 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the successful operation of a designated unit/department/service. They participate as a member of the hospital's management team in planning, policy formulation and administrative decision making with particular reference to the role, functions and operation of the unit/department/service. Finally, they are a steward of the hospital's mission and service excellence program.

Requirements

• MSN preferred; BSN accepted.
• 5 years of psychiatric nurse experience.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Louisiana or compact state license.
• Current CPR, ACLS, PALS as required by policy.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English.
• Ability to communicate with patients, family, peers and medical personnel.
• Basic math skills.
• Requires emotional stability and resilience.
• Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrates foresight.
• Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.
• Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deal with stressful situations and conflict resolution.
• Must have normal hearing or utilize adaptive devices to listen with a stethoscope to discern breath sounds, heart sounds, bowel sounds.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures which support the Hospital's mission, goals and objectives.
• Ensures that staff complies with mandatory education, licensure requirements, mandatory health requirements, etc.
• Develops annual departmental budget and operates within budgetary guidelines.
• Recommends and ensures appropriate staffing levels.
