About The Position

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. The Director of Nursing serves as a key member of hospital leadership, participating in the organization’s decision-making structures and processes, and strategic planning to achieve institutional goals. The role focuses on five key areas: People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance. This includes creating an environment that supports employee development and teamwork, developing systems and processes for excellent patient care, providing accessible and efficient care through evidence-based practice, fostering growth and community partnerships, and supporting financial stability to achieve the UHS mission. The Director of Nursing is also responsible for maintaining nursing policy and procedure, ensuring safe nursing care, understanding unit workflows, and managing supply, staffing, position control, and budget.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Nursing
Five (5) years clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population.
Three (3) years previous clinical supervisory role in an inpatient psychiatric setting and administrative/management experience.

Maintain Nursing Policy and Procedure.
Ensure safe nursing care is provided to all patients.
Understand process of work flow and processes on the Unit floors.
Understand Supply Management, Staffing FTE management, Position control and Budget involvement/management.
